This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Hi all! So, alot has happened since I last logged on, I have left my office job and become a self employed creative being!! My bread and butter is provided mostly from face and body painting work but I have just been offered a one day exhibition of my artwork in London. Its at an event called 'the future of fashion' at the Sosho bar, Tabernacle street, near Old Street tube, starts at 6pm on Sept 11th. Im about to post pics of my canvasses which are reworkings of the stuff I had on paper and a couple of new ones. Let me know what you think and if you're in the area on the11th pop in and say hi! Thanks, Shana, peace. x
Hi Shana, not sure if my reply yesterday to your reply worked, - I'm still trying to work out how to use this site.
I've let Alison Eldred know that you or Bob might contact her through her website about people infringing Bob's copyright. In her words "I'll do my best to sort anything out from the old days" - so it looks like she would be a good person to touch base with in that regard.
I've also let Jane Frank know that you or Bob might contact her. Jane would love to hear from Bob about updating his biographical details for her next edition of her book, and I suspect to ask about purchasing art herself or acting as his agent for sale of orginal art in the US. Her website is [link], her emails is wowart@wow-art.com.
In case my earlier reply didn't make it, a copy is pasted below. All the best, Ed. Grove

Jane Frank - is basically the words biggest collector of Sci-Fi illustration artwork, has published a number of reference books on such artists, and also runs an online store selling such artwork. Her website is "[link]" . She acts for a number of US and UK artists including Jim Burns and Chris Moore who I think your dad will recall. She brought out a book this year called "Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists of the 20th Century", and I know she was having no luck tracking down current information about your father for it. She is very approachable, and I'm sure she would appreciate some biographical information on your father for whenever the next edition is due out : )
Young Artists has now been renamed Arena, - but the person who I spoke to was Alison Eldred (www.alisoneldred.com). I understand that she acted as agent for Jim Burns and others while at Young Artists - and possibly for your father as well. Anyway, she still represents (for the UK) a number of Sci-Fi illustrators including Jim Burns and John Harris. She may be a good starting point for your dad to talk to about anybody who is using your father's work without his consent and/or licensing fees. I don’t know what his copyright arrangements were in relation to his artworks, - Arena may be interested in helping out, but is probably equally likely after this time to take the view it’s your father’s problem to sort out : / I am a lawyer, - but based in New Zealand, so if your dad wants some wording for cease and desist letters I’m happy to assist for free. Because I am in New Zealand any threat of legal proceedings on my letterhead is likely a waste of time in terms of deterrent value, but at the least I can help with the wording to reference the appropriate legislation and make the appropriate threats : )
I am a fairly minor league collector of original sci-fi illustration based in New Zealand, and am focussing on work by UK artists. Because NZ is part of the Commonwealth all our books used to come from the UK, - so I grew up with the books illustrated by UK artists including your father. I have a number of works by Tim White, Colin Hay, Peter Andrew Jones, Geoff Taylor, John Harris, and Tony Roberts (although I’m still paying these off), Chris Moore, Fred Gambino etc, - most of whom were contemporaries of your father. There is a pretty active collecting scene, - but most collectors are Americans and are focussed on American artists. Unfortunately, with the exception of a couple of artists, the collecting market for UK artists is still pretty much in its infancy. This is a pity because the 70’s illustration scene in the UK really was quite extraordinary in the quality and variety of artists and art that emerged, and the artwork deserves much more recognition and to have more value placed on it. I am basically aiming to (ultimately) build a collection which is a “snapshot” of the sci-fi/fantasy illustration from UK illustrators of the ‘70s, - started out as a hobby, became an obsession which has caused serious damage to my mortgage : / I would love to speak to your father about the possibly of purchasing one or more of his paintings. I don’t have the deep-pockets of the US collectors, but generally manage to meet prices acceptable to the artists even if it takes monthly payments. Given that I am in New Zealand email is probably the best way to communicate, but I am also happy to phone the UK to speak to your father, or correspond by post etc.
